Yes — you can complete the entire driver application from your web browser. No app download is required to start or submit your application. You only need the Driver App after you’re approved.
What documents do I need?+
You’ll need a photo of your driver’s license (front and back), proof of insurance, vehicle registration, a vehicle photo, a selfie for identity verification, and your vehicle details (make, model, year, color, plate, VIN).
Do I need to download the app to apply?+
No. The full application — including document uploads, background check consent, and submission — can be completed on the website. After approval, you’ll download the Driver App to start driving.
Can I save my progress and come back later?+
Yes. Your application auto-saves as you complete each step. You can sign out, return later, sign back in, and continue right where you left off — from any device.
What if I already have an OnTheWay Rides account?+
If you’re an existing rider, you can use the same account to apply to drive. Just sign in and start your application — no need to create a second account.
When can I start driving?+
Once your application is reviewed and approved, you’ll be notified. Then download the Driver App, sign in with the same account, and go online whenever it works for you within the service area.
How do I get paid?+
Earnings are tracked per ride and added to your eligible balance. Weekly payouts are submitted through Mercury Bill Pay every Tuesday, with early payout requests available for a fee.
